After School Activities
Chess Nuts is an educational organization dedicated to bringing chess to elementary schools in a life-enhancing, fun, and exciting way. All levels are welcome, from beginning to advanced!
The St. Bede Dance/Movement Program is designed to improve students’ physical awareness, general fitness, flexibility and coordination through dance/movement. The classes are for both boys and girls who receive instruction in ballet, modern and jazz dance skills. There is a recital in the spring.
Drama is offered for grades 1 -8. Students rehearse and do dynamic acting exercises and theater games. Students learn to create characters and scenes, pursue objectives and work as an ensemble. Students also learn about stagecraft while designing and making parts of the sets and costumes for their production.
The Mad Science: Learn about thrust, propulsion and electricity; manipulate matter; make your own slime; experiment with gravity, inertia, centripetal force, axles, levers, gears and wheels; build your own rocket and more!
Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts emphasize fun and healthy outdoor and educational activities. Cub Scouts, in particular, thrives on family participation! Cub Scouts is designed for boys who are in grades one through five.
St. Bede the Venerable School sponsors Cub Scout Pack 507 for boys in grades 1 – 5. Pack 507 is made up of dens according to age:
- 1st Grade – Tigers
- 2nd Grade – Wolves
- 3rd Grade – Bears
- 4th and 5th Grade – Webelos I and II
St. Bede the Venerable Church sponsors Boy Scout Troop 507 (www.troop507.net). Boy Scouts is for boys who are in grades five through twelve.
Girls Scouts is designed for girls who are in grade one through grade twelve.

- 1st to 3rd Grade – Brownies
- 4rth to 6th Grade – Juniors
- 7th and 8th Grade – Cadettes
- 9th to 12th Grade – Seniors
Cultural Bytes promotes cultural awareness and language acquisition in a fun and exciting way. Classes are offered for beginners and native speakers.
